Properties:
Strontium sulfate is a white or colorless orthorhombic crystal. It has a relative density of 3.96 and a melting point of 1605°C. It is slightly soluble in water and poorly soluble in dilute acids and ethanol. It is chemically stable and not deliquescent. It occurs in nature as the mineral celestite. It should be stored in a dry environment.
